    Time Crisis 4

I just like too add It was either this Game OR it was Singstar .. each were going for $39.99 plus tax tho TC 4 was the better deal cause TC4 was originally $79.99 plus tax so you can see why i went for this one ( and the fact .. me and singing don't go well Smile ) I wanted to buy this game cause it reminded me of the NES Days with Duck Hunt or Hogans Alley so i figure Heh .. Hell, Why Not?

I went over to spend the night over a buddies of mine to do some hard core gaming .. we called it Quits at 5AM and we sat and tried for the first time..... Time Crisis 4. I opened the box and I LOL'D the gun is orange ! so i took it out and opened it up and the gun IS NOT WIRELESS it has a long wire tho which is good and comes with a paper to say how far you should be away from the TV using it on each size TV for us it was like 120 - 150 Meters .. ( maybe Centemeters ) * not good with measurement stuff Razz * and came with it was another package looked like a AC Adapter but 2 of them so i took it out and found it was the Sensors to place on top of the TV ... my friend has a Flat Screen HDTV and his TV size is ( i'm ball parking it here ) 42 inches and the whole thing couldn't fit across the TV but had a good decent amount of the TV Covered. I decided to open the manual and look at it briefly and .. YOU CAN PLAY THIS GAME WITH A CONTROLLER !!! so this is a 2 player game ( also if you have a 2nd gun or your friend does then you can just have the other player use a gun instead of a controller.

I like to talk abit more about the gun. i already mentioned the GUN is ORANGE ( hey ! Orange Gun .... Black Playstation ..... WE GOT A HALLOWEEN THEME GOING HERE !!! ) on the Controller has marked L1 and R1 and L2 and R2 .. now i know what your thinking ( wow that's a turn off or Confusing ) well guess what their's even 2 ANALOG STICKS !!!! but here's the thing i only used 1 analog stick and 2 of the buttons and i played fine ( i think it was the L1 and R1 buttons ) the Guncon 3 is different holding the the NES Zapper, with the NES Zapper you hold with one hand .. the Guncon is 2 handed but you hold the back part with the right hand and the front part with the left ( pretty much makes sense )

I popped the game in and me and my friend went into storymode. their are 3 stages Total with the difficulties of Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, And Very Hard. it is short but what else can you expect? it is an arcade game after all. I went to figure out the controls myself ... at the beginning they give you all guns ( hand gun, Machine Gun, Shotgun, Gernade Launcher and one other powerfull weapon ) and keep in mind we put it on very easy mode. so as we played i had no idea why i wasn't shooting .. i realized i had to hold a certain button to pop up to start shooting ( this can be reversed in Options Menu ) but while ducking if you press the other front button you just change weapons. then get up and keep firing away at the enemies on screen. now while i was playing their is NO CROSSHAIR to shoot my taret so i was pointing at them but just like in the arcade games .. you point and shoot but you don't always seem to be shooting where your shooting so it's like guessing. I also have too say Me and My Friend were IMPRESSED with the Graphics for this game, The Graphics was well done it was pretty good for an older PS3 game that's Arcade Style the Game may be cheesy but you tell me what Arcade game with this kind of play ( with the gun pointng at the screen shooting ) is not cheesy ?

I got a kick using the gun .. i felt like playing a Arcade game in the comfort of your own Home ( or in this case my friends home ) he was doing a hell of a lot better job then I was doing but he had the controller AND A CROSSHAIR which i did not have .. so after the first run through we died in stage 1 on very easy and their was NO CONTINUES AT ALL !!! I was like What The F*ck!! this wasn't in the options at all !!! so this is gonna be Challenging but after we both game overed it says you got more continues.. so you play you get game over it gives you more continues as you go along ( 1 each time ) but only getting game over gives this too you ... if you make it to the beginning of level 2 and die and get game over you can actually go and start AT THAT LEVEL. after trying we had about 5 continues but in 2 Player mode you share them, we didn't make it past stage 1 it was pretty sad. I also have to say some parts of the game it will say you have 3 screens to shoot on after you clear one screen hurry and change to another this can be annoying cause it's like a mini game in our first mini game we have too keep shooting guys from all 3 directions for 30 seconds and we don't have to face the same screen which is a plus but their's so much action going on that you can sometimes watch how your partner is dong and can break your consentration and i can't quite explain this but i'l give an example ( if the AI is doing something specific ( like setting charges to blow up a door so you can venture forth ) while your while your killing your enemies say if they shoot him enough times he won't die it just fails your little mini game and you lose a life ( and it's 3 per player )

I decided after we got game over for the final time i gave my friend the gun and got him to play while i sat and watched and he completed the game he entered his initials and then we checked out the Mini Games you can play not in the Main Story .. mainly shoot X amount of targets before the time is up ( and that reminded me of the Police Trainer Arcade Game which is also fun to play .. but it eats your Quarters LOL ) so we played that for about 15 minutes their is over 10 of those shooting the target games but some are a bit different like shoot only The Red targets and White Targets and avoid the Blue .. or shoot all targets as fast you can before they leave the screen, or shoot all targets except for the Skull and crossbones symbol targets and each of these games have a time limit the faster you do you enter your name or initials or whatever for the record you achieve but only by breaking a record for what games number your playing.

I have too say this game didn't sell that well .. but i like these arcade style shooters and am glad i bought this game ... this game is basicly like a arcade in your own home .. but instead f the big Boxed Arcade machine .. it's on a disc for your Playstation 3. i have to say that tho Namco Bandai brought this game out with the gun .. and it's exclusive for the PS3 .. i wish other companies brought big arcade titles too the PS3 VIA PSN Download or Disc Related as a set ( Perfect EX The House Of The Dead 1 - 3 and i love that series ) and their was one on the Dreamcast i think was called Silent Scope which was O.K but needs to be EASIER and not too difficult if they can use Namco Bandai's for their game would be sweet cause i like too see more games that you can use the gun. I have to say i am Very Satisfied with the game and if you got space in front of your TV to sit back far enough to shoot away with the gun awesome you got the arcade feeling effect but if not then your not going to get that much of the arcade feeling with just the PS3 Controller, I rate this game 9 Bullet Holes Out Of 10.

any questions on the game or feedback ? post away Smile

    nice review.

Now i have played I think it was TC3 for the ps2 it was fun but i dont think I would get this one if it had more Levels in it then yea but I think you said "3 Stages Total" sounds boring if they add more Stages then it might have been better. Also I havent seen any TC4 so when i say your post i was amazed that they putted another one out.

    so thanks for you review

I don't like that it only comes with one gun in the box it should come with two or they should at least sell a standalone gun at retail stores.

My Thought's Exactly .. I always wondered .. what if the devs behind House Of The Dead wanted to release HOTD 1-3 on the PSN .. can they take the guncon 3 and the sensors it uses to pick up the gun for the game or would the gun be only for TC4 alone .. i figure since it's an exclusive for PS3 . Sony would ask them to let other devs use their hardware for the games ( as i said before House of dead ETC ETC ) anyone have any idea ?

Good question but who knows? The last console HOTD game I played was on Dreamcast and it had its own proprietary gun (which was badass btw but didn't have a foot pedal).

This game was on clearance for $19.99 at my local store so I picked it up last summer, played for a few hours and haven't touched it since for two reasons I can think of off the top of my head.

    1) It's pretty difficult to replicate the Time Crisis arcade experience at home. You don't have the pedal to fire then return to cover.
    2) Each player gets their own screen in the arcade as opposed to a single screen on the PS3.

It's a decent enough game for twenty bucks but I don't think I would have bought it if it were any more expensive.

oh yea ! i had no idea their was a pedal for the game .. for me i only really played a police Trainer game where if you pass a certain amount of mini games you rank in level and continue on ( sorta like the mini game mode you see in this game where you have to shoot the target .. but it had more mini games then this game tho ) and i only play House Of Dead 2 which was great .. i like arcade shooters like this and it feel like i was in my own arcade tho it may not have all the same equipment i loved it.

Thanks for the comment Crash it's good people replay to my reviews and tell their experience with the game as well.
