Mercenaries 2 World in Flames

Yes, I know... old game for the most part. I just recently picked this up for $10 at Target. It is on clearance there, so I bit on that price point.

It was totally worth it at that price. Maybe even for 20. It has provided quite a bit of entertainment.

The graphics are alright. I can deal with it.

The real prize to me is the gameplay. I've been struggling in finding a comparison to this game... and I think the best I can come up with is Scarface on the PS2. I loved that game. Went and finished it in a week. It is a bit repetitive, but I am drawn to this for some reason. The missions aren't overbearing yet, and doing all these assignments for different factions is pretty cool. And you can destroy buildings too and collect bounty on that as well. Lets not forget, you can also assassinate targets for money as well.

The trophies are fairly simple and straight forward. They feel natural, and you don't really have to go out of the way to get many of them.

The plot is very straight forward--it is a tale of revenge. As you can probably guess, it is about a mercenary not getting his pay.

Well that is the dirty and simple to this game. If you can get it for 10 on clearance at Target, I wouldn't hesitate. I highly recommend it.

I played the demo and thought Meh i didn't put too much effort only a littele and kept dieing .. probably cause i didn't play it enough to get use too it but i like the game play where i can destroy alot of things .. sorta remind me of Battlefield: Bad Company. but just 2 weeks before i bought LOST: Via Domus instead of Mercenaries 2 ( cause i haven't played it before at that time ) and i am a BIG LOST FAN.

You know teddy I had an alright time with this game when it first came out. My friend and I bought it used from gamestop and played it online for 7 days and returned it. Love to exploit. The biggest problem I had with the game was the insane glitches. I was on a turret shooting a building to pieces when a guy ran up behind me and started shooting me, so I turn around and shoot him and turn back around to finish off the building and the turret had disappeared. No sh*t straight up was gone. Then I got a truck drove around jumped out shoot some people went to get back in the truck and ...... yes it was gone as well.

Overall I would probably pick it back up for 10 bucks though.

I bought this one used at Gamestop a while back but I hadn't gotten to play it much unfortunately for other titles (KZ2 etc), hopefully it's an easy Platinum to bag.

Completely agree. For $10, it was a no brainer. I can look past those glitches.

But for full MSRP when it first came out? Ouch... I know some people that paid that price. Poor smurf.
